The predecessor of our school is the Department of Civil Engineering of Hangzhou Technical College affiliated to Zhejiang University which was set up in 1980. In 2005, School of Civil Engineering and Architecture was founded. Our school possesses a team of teaching staff with proper structure of ages, qualifications and professions. There are 92 members of faculty in our school, including 13 senior professors, 31 vice-senior professors, 27 teachers with Doctor degree, and double-qualified teachers accounting for 1/3. At present, we have more than 1780 full-time undergraduates, and 33 graduates from universities of home and abroad.
Our school is equipped with 5 undergraduate majors including Civil Engineering, Water Supply and Sewage Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning and Transport Engineering, which have generally covered the national basic construction fields. Civil Engineering is the provincial key major, and ranks in national level as a characteristic major. Water Supply and Sewage Engineering is a key developing major of our university. Geotechnical Engineering is a key discipline of Zhejiang Province (Level A). Civil Engineering has the authority to launch graduate program of first-level discipline. The Experimental Center of Architecture Engineering is a provincial construction unit of teaching demonstration center.
