Civil Engineering is the earliest specialty in ZUST. It was found in 1980, the first eight years graduates are 3-year education and then face to all the high school students, 4-year under graduate students are enrolled. It is also one of the first speciality which were allowed to award master degree.
The followings are the schedule of development history:
2007- Civil Engineering was selected in main specialty in Zhejiang Province
2008- Civil Engineering was selected in country-level,first grade, characteristic specialty construction
2009-Rock Soil subject was selected in main subject in college of Zhejiang Province, grade A
2012- Civil Engineering was selected in advangaged specialty in Zhengjiang Province “the twelveth five-year Plan”
2012- Civil Engineering passed the professional assessement by department of housing construction, China. It is the first specialty in ZUST and No.3 in Zhejiang.
The school has practice base with the cooperation of company in Zhejiang, and students have chances to be trained as real engineering.
We also prepared laboratory for several courses and subjects: mechanics lab, computer lab, water supply and drainage lab, green architecture lab, and soil mechanics lab. 5000 square meters lab, 2031 facilities which cost more than 37 million yuan are prepared for the students. And it can be served whole day.
The students are well educated here. In the recent 3 years, civil engineering students won the medal of international mathematical modeling, second award; one group won the medal of national structure design competition, second award; during these years, the students also won 10 times first Province award, 23 times second Province award, 30 times practical new type patents.
The graduates will go to design company, construction company, real estate company, and also some excellent will continue their education for master degree. They have the chances to apply famous university all over the world. And to be a post-graduated student in ZUST is a new choice.
