2018 – 2019 INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OPENING CEREMONY AND SCHOLARSHIP AWARD


The 2018-2019 International Students Opening Ceremony and Scholarship Awarding Ceremony was held in the lecture hall of the West Library on September 20, 2018. The University President Prof. Ye Gaoxing, Vice President Zheng Youqu, Instructor of External Management Team of the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau of Hangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau Xiong Jiwei, the General Manager of Qidi Star (Hangzhou Binjiang) Ouyang Huabin, the University Leaders from various Schools and Departments and over 300 new International Students participated in this remarkable ceremony.

 
The opening ceremony began with the Dragon and Lion dance show, Street dance and Chinese song, all of which were performed by current International Students. This was then followed by a speech about the experience of learning Chinese in Zhejiang University of Science and Technology by a diligent student representative who gladly expressed his heartfelt appreciation to ZUST, and gave various suggestions to the new students which are beneficial to their future study and social life. The Freshman representative then delivered a speech, expressing his expectation to the brand new life of university.
 
The scholarship awarding ceremony was held afterwards, which included The Chinese Government Scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship, Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship, University Scholarship for Excellent Students, University Specialized Scholarship, and University Scholarships for Outstanding Freshmen Students. At the same time, the awarding ceremony was held for the basis of Social Practice and Cultural Experience for International students. Furthermore, the ceremony was honored to also include a Donation Ceremony held for the Indonesian Alumni from the National Basketball Team.
 
At the end of the ceremony, representatives of the International Students Union read the initiative of Well-behaved Study.
