AbdulkadirHassan Mohamoud(Abdi), graduated from our school in January 2017, master degree. He is an excellent and hardworking civil-engineering postgraduate student fromSomalia, has always been a model student, optimistic about life and study. His efforts have been paid off, considering that he received a scholarship and each academic yearhis results were alwaysoutstanding.
His master degree thesis is “Limestone performance on Roller Compacted Concrete”. He spent half a year to do the experiments and nearly tow years to do the research.
Apart from his popularity in the faculty, Abdi has also participatedas a volunteer. He usedhis spare time to play with children in a kindergarten and teach themEnglish. He is really grateful for the precious opportunity that the Chinese government and the university have given him, so he wanted to show his gratitude through these good deeds. Speaking about the future, Abdi wants to return to Somalia and use the knowledge he has gained here at ZUST to build roads and dams for his country.
Abdi's experience is a living proof that we cannot change the place where we were born, but wehave the ability to make our countries a better place to live.

I have been driven by a strong feeling of being grateful to write this letter thanking you for your generous act of financing my studies. A sense of being fortunate and hopeful applicant undoubtedly grew inside me when I realized that I was selected. In a simple manner, with this opportunity, I felt hope in its all shapes: the chance to move up in my life. In fact, not only it was a historic moment but also a turning point of my life. I would love to thank to all those who helped me have this unique opportunity. A special thank goes to those people whose exclusive efforts I did really appreciate.
