On November 8-9, The 1st Sino-Franco International Forum on the Preservation of Heritage Building and Sites was held in our school. Vice President JianWan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

JianWan representative school expressed warm welcome to the experts and scholars attending the forum, and briefly introduced the basic situation of the school and the reults of running the school. Addresses were made by the responsible persons of Zhejiang ProvincialCultural Relics Bureau, University of Cergy-Pontoise and the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture of our university.

The forum aimed to improve the level of cultural relics protection science and technology and accelerate the transformation of cultural relics protection science and technology research results. More than 50 experts from cultural and conservation departments, research institutes and companies at home and abroad, including the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage, the French Laboratory of Research on Historical Monuments, the French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Spatial Planning, Development and Networks, the Shaanxi Academy of Cultural Heritage, Tongji University, Zhejiang University and Zhejiang University of Technology, reported a total of 11 forums on topics such as the status of cultural relics protection at home and abroad, the protection of dangerous rock masses, non-destructive testing technology, health and safety assessment of cultural relics and historic sites, and the development and application of new types of repair materials.

This forum washosted by Civil Engineering Research Consortium ZUST-UCP, and co-organized by Cultural Relics Protection Technology and Materials Restoration Committee of Chinese Cultural Relics Association.

After the report meeting, some domestic and foreign experts visited the restoration works of XiaoLianZhang Memorial Arch and one of the first industrial heritages of the country - Linghu Silk Factory, and reinforced the concrete bridges in Nanxun ancient town.
