From December 12 to December 17, 2018, Tong Yunyun, Vice President of our college, and Wuqian, Vice Chairman of the Department of Architecture, visited Kitakyushu State University in Japan. They were cordially received by Professor Long Youer, Vice President of the University and Professor Gao Weijun, Chairman of the International Exchange Committee.
During the visit, accompanied by Professor Gao Weijun of Kitakyushu State University, Japan, we had a thorough understanding of the teaching facilities, laboratory construction, student training mode, subject settings and teachers’ scientific research achievements of the Department of Architecture of the International Institute of Environmental Engineering of Kitakyushu University. We also had friendly discussions with the leaders of relevant disciplines and had a fruitful harvest. Finally, the two sides initially reached the intention of establishing international exchanges and cooperation between the two schools, and made clear the items and contents of student travel studies. In terms of discipline development and scientific research cooperation, we have also found a better breakthrough point.
The University of Kitakyushu was established in the 21st year of the Showa era (1946) and has a history of more than 70 years. It is the third largest public university in Japan on the scale of undergraduate students after Tokyo Metropolitan University and Osaka City University. Selected as a prestigious university of the Top Global University Project promulgated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
The successful completion of this visit has laid a good foundation for Sino-Japanese exchanges and cooperation, and has further opened up new channels for international exchanges.
