Congratulations! On August 1, 2019, under the hard guidance of two teachers named Wuqian and Li Binquan and the students of the Architecture Department of our school won three awards of Excellence in the Fifth International University Student Architectural Design Competition of the China Federation Cup.
The entries were "Box and Hometown Search" (Chen Shiyi, Zhao Yi, Zhang Jingwen, Zeng Ying), "Water Village Impression - Youth Activity Center Reform" (Zheng Xiaoyu, Zeng Xingxing, Liu Siyuan) and "Photography Station - Launching the First Shot of "Reform and Opening" in Hongwei Village “(Chen Lei, Liao Jianwei).
The competition was a competition platform for university students' creative design, which was first built in China by the Chinese Architectural Society, the National Architectural Discipline Steering Committee of Colleges and Universities and China United Engineering Co., Ltd. and was crowned "China Federation Cup". Since its establishment in June 2009, it has successfully held five large-scale competitions of high quality, high standard, which are deeply concerned and welcomed by teachers and students. It will provide a broad and popular arena for students majoring in architecture at home and abroad to compete and display their talents.
The theme of this competition was "The Evolution of Space and Architecture of Places". Since the announcement was issued on Dec. 10, 2018, and until March 31, 2019, more than 2600 applications from more than 200 architectural, urban planning and art schools at home and abroad have been received. As of June 30, 2019, the competition had received 960 effective projects submitted by more than 170 universities from 28 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, Macao administrative regions and some foreign universities.

Xiulong, chairman of the Shenzhen General Institute of Architectural Design and Research, chief architect, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and master of national engineering survey and design Meng Jianmin were invited for the selection. Liu Jingliang, Honorary Dean of Tianjin Architectural Design Institute Limited and Master of National Engineering Survey and Design, General Manager, Chief Engineer, National Engineering Survey and Design Master Lou Yu of China Electronic Engineering Design Institute Limited, General Manager, General Architect and National Engineering Survey and Design University of Beijing Architectural Design Research Institute Limited Zhang Yu, Vice Dean, Professor and Editor-in-Chief of World Architecture Magazine of Tsinghua University, Li Zhenyu, Dean and Professor of School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University, Zhong Dekun, Professor of Southeast University, Dean of School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Shenzhen University, and 17 other well-known experts in the industry insist on "openness, fairness and fairness". According to the principle of selection, 135 entries were selected through repeated review, examination and multiple rounds of voting by the jury, including 2 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 8 third prizes and 120 excellent prizes.
The "China Federation Cup" is one of the highest level competitions in the field of architecture in China. The award proportion set up in this competition is low and the competition is fierce. It is not easy for students of our department to stand out among nearly 1000 works. The results of this competition not only verify the professional level of our department, but also inspire the morale of our students and lay a solid foundation for future international competitions.
