The first regular session in spring semester was held on 3rd , Feb, Structural Teaching and Research Office (STRO). There are 20 teachers in this office. The research scope covers the field of structure, the field of materials, the field of bridge and earthquake.
There are 4 topics presented on the meeting: Professor Feng and Xu gave a guide about the earthquake design. With the development of research, earthquake building code adjusted the parameter to make the design more Safety and applicability. The bachelor degree graduation design should meet these requirements. And Professor Feng introduce two advanced building which reaches a higher class of the structure analysis. Those examples are rare and meaningful in one’s career in engineering field. “Ductile fracture mechanism of corroded steel and ultra-low cycle fatigue performance of bridge pier” is Professor Song’s topic. He shared his PHD achievements with colleagues.
