On April 26, 2024, at 13:30 p.m., Heng Chaoyang, a researcher from China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd., delivered a speech titled "Prediction and Deformation Control Technology of the Impact of Metro Construction on Surrounding Buildings (Structures)" The college's vice president presided over the gathering, which included several young professors and graduate students.

Mr. Heng began by discussing some subway construction engineering accident cases before moving on to four topics: building/subway control standards, subway construction impact and control technology on neighborhood buildings, building construction impact and control technology on the subway, and key technologies for shield-cutting pile underpassing. Mr. Heng then introduced the evaluation methods and key points of the foundation and explained the foundation's assessment methodologies and essential principles, as well as the engineering experience gained and the significant difficulties that need to be solved, in conjunction with engineering examples. Mr. Heng's report is easy to understand and some certain scientific study directions are proposed through practical engineering challenges, which provides new scientific research ideas for young instructors and graduate students.
