The training of practical skills using heart-to-heart conversations for students with psychological problems was successfully held

In order to improve the practical levels of front-line teachers engaged in student work, the college invited Ms. Sai Yanyan, director of the school's psychological counseling center and senior psychological counseling expert, to carry out skills training for all counselors and homeroom teachers of our school on April 26, 2024.

Before the start of the training, Mr. Sai gathered the typical problems encountered by the teachers in the process of student management of psychological problems, and answered them one by one. She gave a brief introduction to the difference between psychological help talk and education management talk in combination with the questions raised by the teachers, so that the teachers present had a basic orientation for the heart-to-heart talk work they faced. During the training, Mr. Sai gave a basic introduction to the psychological helping talk, and explained the basic principles that we should uphold in the helper talk, including basic attitudes, preparation before talking, verbal and non-verbal behaviors, basic conversation skills, the direction of exploring resources and advantages and how to end conversations. During the training, Mr. Sai also led the teachers to carry out practical exercises of emotional relaxation, and achieved rapid relaxation through abdominal breathing. Finally, Mr. Sai summarized the practical skills of students with psychological problems through actual case analysis, and answered questions again.

At the end of the training, Deputy Secretary Huang Yangfei highly affirmed the skills training and expressed his heartfelt thanks to the teacher. Finally, Secretary Huang put forward expectations for all counselors and class teachers, hoping that front-line students and workers can master the necessary practical skills of heart-to-heart conversation with students with psychological problems, so as to better maintain the safety and stability of the campus.
