College of Civil and Architectural Engineering Holds Employment Mobilization Conference and Autumn Recruitment Fair for the Class of 2026



On the afternoon of October 16, the College of Civil and Architectural Engineering held the Employment Mobilization Conference and Internship Teaching Arrangement Meeting for the Class of 2026, themed Building Strength Together, Setting Sail Toward the Future, at Wenli Garden, Room A4-122. The event brought together Jin Hui, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee (acting Secretary), Wang Qiannan, Vice Dean of the College, department heads, class advisors of graduating classes, counselors, corporate representatives, and all undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Class of 2026. The meeting was chaired by You Yongjie, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee.



In his opening remarks, Jin Hui affirmed the achievements of the Colleges employment efforts for the Class of 2025 and provided an in-depth analysis of the challenges encountered. Focusing on three key dimensionsrecognizing the situation and facing challenges, adjusting mindset and taking proactive action, and achieving accurate self-assessment and positioninghe delivered a comprehensive employment mobilization address. Drawing on detailed data and vivid case studies, he encouraged students to develop employment awareness at an early stage, clarify their goals, and plan proactively for the future.


Jin Hui emphasized that the College Party Committee places high priority on graduate employment and adheres to the guiding principle of early planning, early action, and early implementation. With a strong sense of political responsibility, the College is committed to proactive planning and refined services to ensure concrete support for graduates. He noted that the College will continue to foster a collaborative, all-staff approach to employment promotion, focusing on three strategic directions: integrated advancement of admissions and employment, effective improvement of postgraduate enrollment rates, and the development of stable employment channels, striving to achieve a qualitative breakthrough in employment outcomes for the Class of 2026.


Wang Qiannan pointed out that high-quality employment is a key indicator of talent cultivation effectiveness and must be embedded throughout the entire educational process. She emphasized that employment efforts for the Class of 2026 should continue to deepen the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, adopt a long-term perspective while addressing immediate needs, and uphold both problem-oriented and systematic thinking. She called for further strengthening universityenterprise collaboration, enhancing the linkage between internships, employment, and graduation-stage teaching, expanding employment channels, and reinforcing the concept of whole-process and all-staff education.


You Yongjie provided a detailed interpretation of the Universitys employment policies. He encouraged graduates to take initiative and seize opportunities in the golden autumn recruitment season, urging them to abandon passive mindsets of waiting or reliance. He called on students to make full use of the critical Golden September and Silver October period, approaching job opportunities with courage, determination, and a proactive spirit.


Yu Guangliang, a senior career advisor from the Student Affairs Office, offered practical guidance from four perspectives: employment opportunities and challenges, practical job-seeking skills, policy interpretation, and the cultivation of sound employment values. He advised students to objectively analyze the employment landscape and their own strengths and weaknesses, leverage advantages, avoid shortcomings, and pursue employment in a rational and flexible manner. He encouraged students to apply broadly and actively before making well-informed choices.


Focusing on the final mile of graduation, Xu Shan, the Colleges academic affairs officer, reminded students to complete graduation photo collection within the required timeframe. Regarding graduation theses and projects, she emphasized key milestones and quality requirements across the entire processfrom proposal approval and mid-term review to plagiarism checks and thesis defensewhile underscoring the importance of strict adherence to academic integrity. She also systematically introduced the procedures and standards for graduation qualification review, urging students to carefully verify credits against the training program to ensure smooth completion of degree and diploma requirements.


A representative from the National Engineering Research Center for Highway Long-Span Bridge Construction of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) delivered a recruitment presentation, introducing the companys development profile, achievements in cooperation with the College, and future industry prospects. The presentation highlighted the companys work in new materials research and development, core business areas, and strategic development directions.


Following the conference, a dedicated recruitment fair for the Class of 2026 was held, with participation from numerous enterprises, including the National Engineering Research Center for Highway Long-Span Bridge Construction (CCCC), Zhejiang Highway and Waterway Engineering Supervision Co., Ltd., Zhejiang ZheJiao Testing Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Geological & Mineral Construction Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Gute Structural Reinforcement Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Jinggong Steel Structure Group Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Urban Investment Construction Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Changhe Muqiao Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Zhonghao Applied Engineering Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd.



The successful organization of this event helped students gain a clearer understanding of the current employment landscape, encouraged them to face graduation and employment proactively, cultivate correct employment values, maintain a positive mindset, and make early preparations.


Looking ahead, the College will continue to intensify employment support efforts by regularly offering one-on-one resume consultations, targeted interview skills training, and employment experience-sharing sessions with industry professionals, providing full-process employment services to help graduates secure suitable positions and achieve high-quality employment.
