Inspiring New Ideas and Advancing Cooperation: “Industry Association + University” Cost Engineering Industry-Academia-Research Exchange Forum Held at the College



On October 17, 2025, the Industry Association + University Cost Engineering Industry-Academia-Research Exchange Forum was successfully held at the College of Civil and Architectural Engineering, jointly organized by the Hangzhou Construction Project Bidding and Cost Management Association and the College. The forum aimed to explore how deepened industryacademiaresearch collaboration can promote technological innovation and talent cultivation within the construction cost industry, contributing to its high-quality development.


Representatives attending the meeting included Zhu Likang, Director of the Industry-Academia-Research Work Committee of the Association, Huang Hongbin, Association Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-Generals Luo Jinxiang and Cheng Jianyong, as well as the Colleges Deputy Party Secretary (in charge of daily work) Jin Hui, Vice Dean Wang Qiannan, Deputy Secretary You Yongjie, industry association staff, key faculty members of the Engineering Cost program, and student counselors.


At the opening, Jin Hui extended a warm welcome to the visiting association delegation, provided an overview of the development of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and the College, and introduced the progress in the construction cost program. He emphasized the importance of deepening multi-layered cooperation between universities, professional associations, and enterprises to jointly promote talent cultivation and professional development, and to actively explore new models and pathways for school-enterprise collaboration. Wang Qiannan and You Yongjie reiterated the Colleges willingness to strengthen cooperation with the industry association in areas including industry-oriented talent training and practical education, aiming to enhance technical and managerial capabilities across the cost engineering sector.


Huang Hongbin expressed appreciation for the Colleges hospitality and introduced the mission of the Associations Industry-Academia-Research Work Committee and the key objectives of the current exchange. Zhu Likang shared insights on training programs for new and existing employees in cost engineering enterprises and discussed students professional development needs, offering constructive suggestions for strengthening students practical competence. Luo Jinxiang spoke on the integration of artificial intelligence with the cost engineering industry, and Cheng Jianyong shared successful examples of university-industry collaboration from other city associations.


The forum covered key topics including collaborative projects and the cultivation of high-level technical talents under the Industry Association + University model. Participants agreed that pooling the strengths of research institutions, leading enterprises, and industry associations can effectively realize complementary advantages and drive deeper cooperation. Both parties affirmed their shared commitment to advancing collaboration and pledged to leverage this dialogue as a foundation for continuous partnership, contributing to sustainable talent development and the high-quality growth of the cost engineering industry in Hangzhou and beyond.
