On December 8, 2024, the "2024 International Conference on Safety and Protection of Concrete Structures" hosted by our institute was held in the conference room of the college. damage mechanism and reinforcement measures. Experts and scholars from Australia, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and domestic universities attended the conference as student representatives.
The opening ceremony of the meeting was held on the morning of December 8. Shen Shusheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of our institute, attended and delivered a speech, and Professor Jin Hui, Vice Dean, presided over the meeting. Secretary Shen first extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars attending the meeting, briefly introduced the development of the college, and expressed his best wishes for the complete success of the meeting.
The academic presentations for the conference were split into morning and afternoon sessions. In the morning session, five presentations were given by Professor Hu Xiaozhi from the University of Western Australia, Professor Yang Shutong from Ocean University of China, Professor Zhu Jianfeng from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, Professor Jin Hui from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, and Associate Professor Cao Qi from Dalian University of Technology. They discussed topics such as the prediction of destructive force in concrete structures, 3D printing of UHPC fracture performance, and the seismic performance of GFRP-Stainless Steel reinforced concrete columns. In the afternoon session, presentations were given by Professor Lu Yiyan from Wuhan University, Professor Wu Xi from Zhejiang University, and Professor Gonzalo Francisco Ruiz Lopez from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. They covered topics such as the stress mechanism of FRP grid reinforced cementitious materials, key technologies for catastrophe risk prevention in foundation pit tunnels, and the fatigue of SFRC in compression. Additionally, Professor Zhang Dawei from Zhejiang University and Professor Zhou Xiangming from Brunel University London discussed topics such as multifunctional carbon fabric reinforced cementitious matrix for RC members and shear behavior of precast concrete segmental girder bridges.
This international conference aims to bring together experts, scholars and industry elites at home and abroad to discuss the advanced technologies and concepts of concrete structure safety and protection, promote technological progress in the field of concrete structure safety and protection, effectively improve the safety of concrete structures, and ensure the stable and reliable operation of all kinds of buildings and infrastructure.
